Infrared
A poem by WildfireK

She sees in black and white,
I see in infrared,
She listens with her heart,
I listen with my head,
If I had the chance to speak,
And my people practiced what I said,
Then everyone who stands here now,
Would long be far past dead.

I see in hopes and dreams,
She sees in hesitance,
I will plow through the valleys,
She will follow in my tread,
She is of great value,
She always plants the seeds,
But she seems to turn a blind eye,
To pulling all the weeds.

I shake hands with my shadows
And the dark depths of my mind,
Because in those comfy corners
Is where I like to hide.
My mirror is as smooth as shade,
Her mirror remains broken,
I won’t tell her to fix it because
I’ve never been outspoken.

I will repel all her shadows,
And only have her by my side,
But a time may come when she is in it
As a thorn or as a knife,
And until I wake her up, then
She will never dream,
For if I am the rain,
Then she shall be the steam.

One sees in hopes and dreams,
One sees in infrared,
Neither understands a single word
The other says.
One never seems to speak,
The other seems to be blind,
And both twist and turn and shout
In each other’s minds.

One sees in black and white,
One sees in hesitance,
One feels in goals and ideals,
One feels in her sixth sense,
They yearn to bridge the schism
That is made by wrong and right,
But they stand only still, as
Neither of them can fly.

Noice! Though you do have a few problems with meter that detract from the smoothness of the poem. I really like how much symbolism you put into it.
