Over 1,000 words! Yesss!
Also, I went all out on the references, including the most meaningful stanzas from almost every other poem I've written, as well as including infrared, eclipses, mirrors, trains, the rain, and Little Sapling!

Stars and Smoke
A Poem by WildfireK
To the tune of Thunderstorm by Peter Crowley
Code Names: Cloud4, Rain4, Little Sapling3, Shadow1, Star1, Black Pearl1, Moon3, Sky2, Sun2, Poet1

(0:34)
The Poet:
The Moon is howling, the Rain is falling
I can hear the mirrors calling
A train flies past on metal wings
Belief is dead, the Instinct sings

(0:45)
The Black Pearl:
This is the moment I take my heart and show it
To the Cloud, the Rain, the Train, the Poet
The Moon, the Sun, the Star, the Sky
Watch them stand, and watch them die
What they believe is of their use to me
If they cannot use their claws and teeth
What I can gain is what they’ll lose
A life that I believe is of my use

(1:06)
The Star:
Life is but a game, and I will be the victor
I have played this before in a bigger picture
I will make history as I have before
The final boss knocks on my door

(1:17)
The Cloud:
Everything’s equal, I can’t decide
We are built on what we like

Here they come, the stars and smoke
I’ve already choked on my hope
Hanging loosely from my rope
Above the cliff I shall revoke
The light above, the dark below
I give up, I let go
I fall into the void I love
The light below, the dark above

(1:38)
The Rain:
I ride the train, and on the roof,
I meet a specter named Aloof
I raise my gun, he’s bulletproof
He takes my bullet as excuse
He jumps off, leaves me behind
I begin to brace for the endless ride
I hold the papers by my side
They tell me how she lived her life

I hold my scar to my eye
I take it off like a goodbye

(2:00)
The Shadow:
Everyone is too pure, I can’t fight
My fist is used to hold the night
Here I stand, fading fast
I’ve lost more than I’ve ever had

(2:21)
The Moon:
The justice of rebellion paints the sky infrared
The eclipse we’ve made will eclipse all our dead
And fate itself will follow our stark example
The trains will bow to our dark preamble
The clouds are black tonight; the storm is on its way
The Moon proclaims the death of Day
Vice’s demise will open our eyes
Kill the rain with battle cries

(2:42)
Little Sapling:
Here the Rain falls through the fire
I catch the sun, and I grow higher
My roots, I see are getting brighter
Ingrained in me, my own messiah
My parade marches through the storm
The Sky will never reach my floor
I see the sea holding the door
I wet my wings, and then I soar

(3:04)
The Sun:
I cannot tell if my nightmares
Are visions of the present’s heir
I lay awake, because my dreams
Are no longer made of what I see

My light is dimming, the dark is winning
I think my shadow is just beginning
I hope it takes over my heart
So I am longer afraid of the dark

Save me from the future
The present is a loser

Save me from the future
The present is a loser

(3:36)
The Sky:
I miss every day, every weak
I shouldn’t use my heart to speak
If she believed what I believe
A barren tree is what I’d see

I fall from grey to accompany the day
I fall from white to accompany the night
All my friends are only stars
My dream is to ride on a boxcar

(3:57)
The Cloud:
We are all perfect people
Staring through broken mirrors
And we cut ourselves on the glass
We try to fix evil
We try to see clearer
Is it the mirror we’ve smashed?

(4:18)
The Moon:
We are not the villains but
Hypocrisy’s insistent

We are not the villains but
Hypocrisy’s insistent

We are not the villains and
Our anthem goes like this:

We are not the villains but
Hypocrisy’s insistent

(4:29)
The Cloud:
‘Cause if I had the chance to speak
And my people practiced what I said
Then everyone who stands here now
Would be long be far past dead
‘Cause if I had the chance to speak
And my people practiced what I said
Then everyone who stands here now
Would be long be far past dead

(4:40)
The Moon:
We are not the enemy
We're heroes instead
But dead beasts tell no tales
So they'll wait until we're dead
Then bury us in a sea
Of indoctrination
So everyone who was murdered
Is now a machination

(4:50)
The Rain:
The Rain does not stop when the sky grows dark
The Rain does not stop when the moon grows sharp
The Rain does not stop when the trees fall down
The Rain will not stop if you kill the clouds

I hold my scar to my eye
I take it off like a goodbye

(5:12)
The Shadow:
Everyone is too pure, I can’t fight
My fist is used to hold the night
Here I stand, fading fast
I’ve lost more than I’ve ever had

(5:33)
Little Sapling:
Open your eyes, and for once in your life
Hear the silence that I am always singing to the sky
And for me please just double-check this wreck
Of a scar through the eye and a scarf around the neck!

(5:44)
The Black Pearl:
This is the moment I take my heart and show it
To the Cloud, the Rain, the Train, the Poet
The Moon, the Sun, the Star, the Sky
Watch them stand, and watch them die

(5:54)
The Star:
Life is but a game, and I will be the victor
I have played this before in a bigger picture
I will make history as I have before
The final boss knocks on my door

(6:05)
The Sun:
Save me from the future
The present is a loser

Save me from the future
The present is a loser

Candledark!

Save me from the future
The present is a loser

Save me from the future
The present is a loser

(6:15)
The Moon:
We are not the villains but
Hypocrisy’s insistent

We are not the villains but
Hypocrisy’s insistent

We are not the villains and
Our anthem goes like this

We are not the villains but
Hypocrisy’s insistent

(6:26)
The Cloud:

Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain,
Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, rain,

I love you, Rain
I love you--!

OMGIRATINA YOU USED SOME FROM OUR SMACKDOWN XD

I want to be in theeeeere
But I'm still fighting with the Rain
I'm still feeling my fresh pain
I'm still waiting for a response
I wait for the Rain's nonchalance

Oh hey that spiraled into a poem

@WiispNightmare:
Sorry I haven't responded. The poem battle and this both completely exausted my lyrical ability.

@WildfireK: What
Your lyrical ability can be exhausted
Do I need to do something to inspire you again? :V
(I'm doing another right now anyways, actually)

@WiispNightmare:
Guess what

"I hold my scar to my eye
I take it off like a goodbye"

That.
Is a Rayfiist salute.
Nira just did a Rayfiist salute.

I wonder why?

Gah I shouldn't be saying this
I'm revealing too much
